The initial exam is a very important appointment. At this visit, you will meet all of us, get a feel for the office, and gather some data regarding potential orthodontic treatment for yourself or your child.

Equally important is the opportunity for us to meet you and to begin to learn about you or your child as a person. This information will help us establish an interpersonal relationship that hopefully will prosper over the course of treatment and make your orthodontic experience a meaningful, rewarding time in your life or your child’s life.

After meeting with you and/or your child, Dr. Melling will give you his recommendation regarding whether treatment is indicated, the timing of treatment, the estimated treatment time, whether Invisalign is a good option, and an estimated treatment fee.

Because we want people to feel free to learn about the potential benefits of orthodontic treatment, we do not charge for the initial exam. This is done as a courtesy to the dental community.
